PE Firm (Alpine Investors) vs. Top IB SA positions
I am currently trying to decide between a job with a very strong PE firm in SF with ~1.5B under management vs. IB SA positions (Greenhill, PWP, Morgan Stanley, etc.) which I have final rounds coming up with. My ultimate goal is to go into PE so I think it may be smarter to make the move now
ok
Alpine is a good PE firm but not at the analyst level. You won't be doing the work an associate at a typical PE firm will. Stick to top IB SA.
.
Alpine is one of the few straight-outta-grad PE programs where analysts do a lot of the typical post-IB associate work so would consider taking them over top IB SA positions if PE is your long term goal.
Know some smart kids there who are ex MS/GS interns and they run point on most deals.
Less breath of exposure and 'brand value' though so depends on what you value
I like that the comment right above this says the exact opposite... that's WSO for you
