Shouldnt be a problem. Had a buddy at a very similar situation but went to HF as an associate. Nobody will knock you for working your way up / through a couple different groups, especially at a top BB. If anything, you should be making it a more compelling point to your "story".
Got similar feedback from others - general consensus is I should be able to get some PE interviews...what about large cap / megafund PE interviews? Are those out of reach?
