Is there any indication of group placement in the offer? I believe PWP is a generalist program, whereas in Gugg, certain groups (i.e. TMT, HC, FIG) are known to have a tougher culture than others. At the end of the day, esp at the Associate level, go with where you connected best with the people you met - exits opps will largely be the same, if I'm not mistaken

Thanks for getting back to me. They are both generalist and you have to place into a group after a period. I am mostly interested in Industrials or Power but I also want to take advantage of trying other groups.

Agree. Go with the folks you feel most comfortable with because there is a good chance that in the generalist staffing model you may find that after a few staffings that your preference may change. When I ran generalist intern staffings at a BB for a summer, a lot of folks would end up in an entirely different group than they first planned because of the relationships they developed on a staffing.

That isn't to say you shouldn't come in with a plan. Be prepared to put a stake in the ground. Just know that it may change depending on deal flow through the summer.

Also, the recruiting teams will generally pull you into whatever group the majority of them work with for your first staffing so that is something else to think about when making your decision.

At the end of the day, congrats on both offers!

Congrats on the offers. Tbh it comes down to your personal preference but both are great options. I would personally lean towards Guggenheim, especially for HC/TMT. PWP has a generalist model for MBA associates, and I know someone who summered at Guggenheim received an MF offer in his second year through extensive networking/recruiting.
