Philosophy in Australia

I saw the other guy's thread about studying classics or philosophy in the UK and it had me wondering if the same was possible in Aus. Would Majoring in Philosophy or Latin from a GO8 like USYD or UNSW still work or even help me stand out. I understand it isn't the same as doing it at Cambridge but those subjects interest me more than the typical comm classes.

studying 'classics' in Australia is a sure fire way to get zero (like literally zero) interest from any IBs. Even if you were a university medalist, you would seriously struggle.

The Go8s are not Cambridge. Anyone can go to USYD or UMelb. Aussie banks expect you to have good financial knowledge (unless you're a girl going for an internship) and at least study commerce, law or engineering style courses.
