Previously interviewed at Piper with their biotech team. The team seems very strong in terms of deals (go peep some of the MDs featured transactions), but I definitely got sweaty vibes, at least from that team. Believe some other teams sit out there as well (maybe portions of C&R - someone correct me if that is off). Was pretty lengthy process, especially for banking, so was flustered to not get an offer. Seniors I spoke to were pretty chill (1 extreme hardo ED that I think was the reason I didn't get the offer hahaha). The associate I spoke to kind of alluded to it being sweaty as well and ironically recently left the group too. I also am on the East so the appeal of moving is low but if you are there / want to be there I think it's definitely solid and I'm sure you can lateral if you don't enjoy it. Biotech is hot right now, so I imagine those junior bankers are getting crushed. Again, take all of this with just the basis of a biotech outlook, because that's the only experience I have. Piper in Minny I KNOW is sweaty. Know two associates out there and seeing them trying to wiggle around 'culture' was hilarious. I think that Minny office is thoroughly vetted by WSO users and everyone knows about that, but yeah I don't know Piper definitely seems sweaty generally, maybe select groups and geographies are different but that has been my experience with the firm in general.
