Pitchbook vs prospectus... where can i find good industry info?
What's the difference between pitch book and offering memos/prospectus in M&A?? I'm a 1st year analyst at this MM M&A firm. I'm having hard time writing company's prospectus, does anyone know where i can find good info on industry analysis on the web? thanks
A pitchbook is used to "pitch" a financing solution to a client. The prospectus/CIM is used to market a deal to investors.
Investment Banking is the process of matching those with capital needs (clients) with those with capital (investors). You have to market each deal from both angles.
Are you writing just the industry analysis portion?
Prospectus/"Red Herring", Confidential Information Memorandums, Private Placement Memorandums, Term Sheets etc. are generally drafted by corporate attorney on a deal.
Every industry in the known universe has their own trade publication of sorts. Also, try the obvious suspects such as Thomson Financial, S&P, Morningstar as well as other investment bank equity analyst industry reports.
