Poor Grades: Are my chances for a job in Finance and Consulting Totally Screwed up?

11 A*-B, A in Maths, A, B in Sciences, 2A* in Business Studies ----Basically overall 2A* 5A 4B
A Levels ---Economics (A), Extended Project (A), Biology (C), Chemistry (C), AS Maths (C)
Bsc Economics (non-target school): 3.3/3.4 GPA...I know I did terrible
Msc Banking and Risk (Semi-target school)---results awaiting

Just realised my grade actually equals to a 3.3 nearly 3.4 GPA

Work Experiences:

Finance Directorate Intern at International Institute of Agriculture (abroad experience), Bloomberg BAT student ambassador, Field Marketer, Founded a very entrepreneurial society at university, Home Fundraising, Teaching Assistant, Administrative Assistant, Bar Staff, Retail Staff

Assuming I am successful in getting appropriate work experience in Shell Oil Company, and market related/trading work experience and I also keep up with writing and video blogging on Financial Markets news (and/or) maybe get a certificate in futures and options

I am particularly interested in these roles in INVESTMENT BANKING: Trading, Sales, Risk Management, Corporate Banking, Strategy or as 'a investment banker' but the hours investment bankers work is so unappealing to me.

I would also be okay with a role in Private Banking, Private Equity, Consulting and Bloomberg Business News Anchor (which I would really love--I'm a girl so you can maybe imagine).

So back to my question, do I have a chance at these roles?

Thanks

If you didn't graduate from a good journalism school then you don't really have a shot at financial news, especially anchoring, but PM me if you want some more info on that particular direction.

Also, there's nothing wrong with a 3.1 - that's above average, so stop apologizing for it and own it.

Agree with @"Stryfe". 3.1 isn't ideal for some parts of finance but it's still better than what a lot of people get. I know someone who had a worse GPA, worked a year in commercial banking at a regional office for a BB and then lateraled to the IBD through networking and establishing himself as a hard worker. Don't get down on yourself or apologize for it or else others will sense it and pounce on that. You want to make sure you own your weaknesses and spin them as strengths to a believable degree. A few years down the road, if you gather interesting and diverse work experience, your GPA will simply be one data point.
