Positive Review = Rethink Buyside?
Anybody with some years of experience with insight to share? Have been considering leaving my EB (Associate 1) for a buyside role and have gotten a lot of traction, but had a very positive review this year and am now rethinking that. I don’t hate my job, I even like it, but I think risk taking jobs would be more interesting.
Is it actually worth leaving for a marginal, possible improvement? I’m looking for somebody to convince me to stay...
Just realize you might stagnate at vp level or the fact that your interests may change in 10 years. better to try PE and go back to IBD than not at all
Aren't you much more likely for that to happen in PE and much earlier?
Very difficult to go back to IB from bayside.
That can’t be true. We have many people at my bank who went to buyside and came back
Not really
off topic, but is it common to still get a lot of traction even as an associate?
More common in Europe
