possibility of switching now

Hi,

I graduated from college 4 months ago, and started my economic consulting gig in the energy sector right after.

Right now, I absolutely hate my job, as it is way more academic than I expected. I really hope to move out of this job. I have looked at a possible switch to equity research or management consulting.. I know its very different from each other, but I believe I have the background to do either of the job.. as long as it is less academic than the work that I am doing right now.

I am planning to take the CFA in December to build my resume. I was wondering if you guys have any ideas about how to transition out of this industry. I don't want suck it up for the next 2-3 years and go to MBA. I hope to make this transition within the next 12 months.

Seigniorageunlikely. Feel lucky you have a job that looks good to top MBA admcoms.

Why do you think its unlikely..?is it really hard to break into a finance firm (equity research) offcycle? I heard this division has a high turnover
