Post-finance life

Once you've done IB it will stick with you forever. I Ieft as a Sr VP to start a health tech company. I left it due to burn-out after more than a decade as CEO. The skills and relationships you build are critical. I took a couple of years off and did some consulting. I like our work at my PE fund, but my fund is asking me to take over a portco as the CEO. I don't really want to be a CEO again.

As I'm discussing this with my fund, a former client hit me up with a big offer to be COO at a rapidly growing business. Your work/industry friends are so much more important as you grow more senior. Sometimes opportunities will just drop from your network. The people you help along the way can provide so many opportunities...just remember that.
