Post-MBA Offer from Big 4 M&A
Hi guys,
I have a post-MBA offer for a senior associate role from the M&A practice in one of the big 4 accounting firms. My MBA is from Wharton and I have 4 years combined exp in big 4 audit and back office corporate finance in industry.
Will you take this up if you were me?
My impression is big 4 M&A is usually a pre-MBA stint and I could not find any alumni working in big 4 post Wharton. Would not want my friends to laugh behind my back for paying more than $250K for an MBA only to get a presumably sub-optimal role.
Appreciate honest thoughts.
Why do you care what your friends think? It’s your life to live.
In terms of big 4 M&A, think about your reasons for doing it: does it help you get to the next step in your career, would you enjoy it, etc.?
Not that it should matter, I know a recent HBS alum that went to EY-Parthenon post-MBA?
B4 M&A is not bad lol but that alumni point sounds off putting is this your only offer
What are your other options?
Did you already graduate? FT MBA recruiting is still going on if you’re an incoming second year
No, I wouldn't take this if I were you. Would think you could get a boutique IB role or corporate finance that would be preferable, Wharton is obviously a fantastic finance MBA?
