Post-SA lateral to RX

Title,

Incoming SA at a good BB (GS TMT / MS M&A)

Long story short became really interested in RX after recruiting season was all but over. Obviously happy with my placement, but RX seems really fascinating to me. I was wondering how common it was to recruit FT to Rx with a high-end return offer, or lateral FT after a few months on the desk.

Furthermore what sort of firms would be open to me? My semi-target school has never placed at PJT, but I would be happy with a generalist experience  at a good EB (where I would focus on RX), or an HL/Moelis type bank.

1. Is this viable?

2. Interests aside, is this a smart career move?

3. Should I start reaching out now, or right after internship - don't want to lose return offer if word gets around.

Are you actually interested in rx or are you worried about deal flow, decipher between the two.

Recruiting to rx is hard because you have to have a concise path and reasoning to rx.

Your exit opps are going to be focused on credit and distress just know that, unless you want to stay in banking. No point in doing Rx if you are interested in buyout.

Its definitely possible there are often a few FT spots since a few RX SA usually recruit FT to buy-side programs. Have seen a decent amount of CS FSG do FT RX
