Posting on iBO - Compliance/Legal Issues?

For all the bankers out there:

I know a lot of you post while you at work, and was just wondering whether you can face any legal/compliance issues over this. Does the compliance department monitor every website you visit, and everything you say online, or do they not care as long as you're not browsing porn, etc. online?

Can they ever fire you based on something you post on here? Would your firm care that you visit this site?

Just curious to see if it is okay to keep checking this site/posting once one starts working.. Seems like a good way to help pass the time.

I would recommend keeping your name and bank anonymous for obvious reasons. If you post something like, "My MD, at [insert bank] named insert name, is a complete a-hole", then yes, I guess you could get in trouble. That being said, we would also never give out the private information of our users and I doubt any place woud fire you for giving some advice on a forum.

More likely, if you were stupid enough to publicly release where you work and defame someone you work with, it would spread around your bank and they would block the site and the rest of the monkey's in your bank would lose access.

We are in the process of trying to form partnerships with the main iBanks so that they don't block us since traffic has been growing steadily.

Good question. Thanks.
