Power and Utilities Banking

Anybody have any idea what banks are strong in NYC for PUR banking, interested in recruiting in the space and wanted to get an idea of what banks have the team.

EVR, LAZ, GUGG, JPM. Then there are specialized boutiques like PEI, Marathon, Whitehall (think they do gas mainly) and CRC (renewables only)

Basically any bank with a big balance sheet is strong in the space. All the US BBs and Canadian banks have good P&U/infra groups (except BMO). EVR, LAZ are the best EBs in the space. As for smaller boutiques, I would say PEI is doing the best right now.

Deal flow at PEI / Marathon and others is not good. The bigger banks are cleaning up right now

Would disagree with this statement. PEI and Marathon have been pretty active. I am at an EB and obviously don’t compete with us, but have seen a bunch recent articles and transactions they are advising on.
