Prestige Upgrade: Incoming Piper Sandler Intern (PWP Merger)
Hey lads, so basically I'm an incoming investment banking summer analyst at Piper Sandler, then as you know, they acquired PWP earlier this morning. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Piper technically operates as an elite boutique (EB) brand post-merger. Would it be a good idea for me to grab some extra prestige points by updating my LinkedIn profile with "Piper-PWP Summer Analyst" or maybe "PWP-Piper"?, I mean, who could resist the allure of being associated with such a high-profile collaboration? Just imagine the reactions when recruiters/my HS class/my ex stumbles upon my profile. It's sure to make them do a double-take and think, "Now here's a rising star with the perfect blend of ambition and strategic prowess." Imagine the looks on everybodys faces when they hear me casually mentioning my new status as an "elite boutique investment banker." It's practically guaranteed to make me the talk of my 5th year high school reunion! So what do you guys think? Should I go for it and bask in the glow of my newfound prestige? I need your expert opinions on this.
I'd think twice about that first variation, the "Piper-PWP"? Someone scrolling quick who doesn't yet know your prestige level might assume you've "paid with pennies", the Piper that is. This type of high-level thinking deserves more attention - why don't you sleep on it?
