Private Funds Group (Secondaries PE Advisory)
Hi All,
I've recently started at an analyst in secondaries private equity advisory. My aim one day is to move into secondaries PE on the buy-side but i'm struggling to pick up any real technical skills in this job outside of understanding the general market, different structures. Modelling is very limited, aside from waterfall modelling for LP returns and some equity cushion/EBIT bridge but apart from that, there is not much to it. Would any of you have any advice on how best to position myself to one day move over into a secondaries fund? Should i pivot into M&A/Lev Fin if i have the chance over the next two years, or stay put and try and learn as much as possible?
All the best and thanks in advance
what firm is this? and are you based in london?
Yes based in London. Well known IB in their secondaries team.
Stick to jazz. Think you’ve got a good thing going.
Following, would be interested to hear about exit ops to Secondary PEs
