Exit opps for private placements are more along the lines of investor relations roles. Not too hard to make the switch to those types of roles at MF. However moving to a actual buyout PE type role will be very difficult from private placements. Would recommend you try to switch to an IB product/coverage group at the EB for full time. I'm actually in the opposite boat and looking to switch from IB to private placements. Would you mind PM me? Curious hear about your process.
