Probing Questions on a Deal - How Best to Respond?
I am wondering how others would handle this situation.
My firm was running a sell-side. At one of the the management presentations, one of the MDs of a buyer started making small talks with my director and I (then later, directly with me when I was alone at one of the breakout sessions).
I understand that the MD is trying to get a reaction and more information from us, even if he is not entitled to some of the responses. My question is how best to handle these probing questions politely, and whether to answer them at all. It seems rude to not respond but risky to respond.
Any input would be much appreciated.
