Prospective Monkeys- Quit the AI Networking Emails.

I get it, you want to reach out to 500 people as a sophomore at a non target and don’t know where to get started. I cannot tell you how many of these emails I have gotten, and how not one of them is actually tailored to me. I have literally gotten 5 emails saying “You studied math at College. Do you have 30 minutes to discuss [my Company]?”

No. If you don’t have time to write me an email, I’m not taking time out of my day to talk to you. Last week, I literally got an email duplicate from one person AFTER I responded to his initial message. I told him that.

Stop treating networking calls like collecting Pokémon, it won’t make me want to talk to you at all. I don’t know who told you to do this. It is the dumbest approach I have ever heard. My immediate reaction  WILL be “this person does not have a targeted approach, and couldn’t care less if they talk to me or some other banker. Let the other guy handle it. Even if we did hire this person, I wouldn’t trust them to not try to take shortcuts that compromise quality at every turn.”

If you want someone to help you, make them want to help you. I’ll get off my soapbox. Just cut it out.

Bankers- Would you respond to an AI slop email?

Yeah if you can't be bothered to even write me an email yourself, I'm not going to be bothered to talk to you.

What you actually mean is get better at using AI to write your emails because the reality is all they can go off of are the deals that you’ve done in your group or what you have on your LinkedIn, and you can already just tell an AI to make it sound more natural or human-sounding based on those variables . Realistically, all the emails you’re receiving are AI.
