Protected Saturday policy
I'm currently at a BB in a group with no protected Saturday. The idea was always that weekend work should not be normalized (i.e. fine to do quick work and send a few emails here and there but actual work can wait until Monday). Obviously, that also means if on a live deal urgent deadlines keep coming in, you can end up working 7 days a week for a while.
Curious to hear people's opinion of protected Saturday. Is it well enforced at your firm? Does protected Saturday = Sunday is a normal business day?
Wells Fargo: used to have 1 protected weekend per month (Sat/Sun). They did away with that a few months ago and replaced with a “protected holiday” policy where you get a day off before a federal holiday and a day after.
The policy is not enforced and now we work 365.
