I mean the full bush seems a little hairy but how's the quality of the gucci underwear fabric I buy going to affect this? Does it make your balls too hot in the summer? Which is most impressive to my male co-workers? How's the prestige factor? What's the best way to shave my balls anyhow?

I think it mostly depends on who you will be talking to more. Do interns and analysts at the firm you're going to converse a lot with MDs? If so, the hairier the better. Remember, they lived through the 70s. My colleague Peter Griffin will elaborate on this point:
A landing strip is highly recommended if most of your interaction is done with analysts up to VP level. If your firm is involved in BRIC deals, you have a 1 in 4 chance of striking gold with a Brazilian.
Word of advice: Do not attempt a full eradication of your pubic hair. At least not in your first two weeks. The constant scratching will signal to colleagues that there is something pervy about you. Which is possibly the case, but they needn't know that.

So - after reading all these discussions on style/dress code...i figured i would throw this out there...for men, is pubic hair frowned upon in the IB world? I have been shaving my initials into my ass hair for years...do i need to shave it all off to be taken seriously? Is it really that shallow?
As long as you are discreet it really shouldn't be a problem. Every group is different though - try to get a feel for the culture where you are working.
This might be a good question to ask at the end of an interview.

just make sure you shave it short enough to where it itches the following day... this will result in many scratching opportunities to be seen by your md... this is how the banks (at least the BB banks) know you shaved and can distribute bonuses accordingly
It doesn't itch the very next day. It takes at least 5 days for the itching to set in. I mean, your face doesn't itch when you shave it...unless I've been doing it wrong since high school.

Actually, I think long and liberal and bushy is best, so you can take a few strands and stick them out a little from a slightly open zip to show how well endowed you are and hence more capable of doing comps and pitch books
Or you can use one of those long loose ones to tie together a rather large pitch book when you dont have the time and energy to run down to the copy center. Sometimes the staples come undone :/
