Public Speaking? BS?

How often are analysts speaking in front of a large amount of people? Does this vary by size of bank? If so, for what usually? My assumption is analysts do not.

Public speaking skills and intra personal skills are two of my most polished. Will this lever me above other analysts?

From what I know, it doesn't happen very often on the job, for analysts. However, if you're really that good with public speaking/socializing, it'll help you when interviewing/networking.

In all seriousness, I would imagine those would help you in almost any IBD, ER, or HF job.

There's all sorts of public speaking. Exactly what sort of public speaking are you good at?

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

Informative and to some extent persuasive. For example I could argue a stance on a technical issue far better than making an emotional appeal. I have a controlled and firm speaking style with some light humor thrown in. The more formal the setting/topic the better.
