Qatalyst Process Breakdown
So I've heard Qatalyst has 11 rounds and its an arduous process. What does the first few rounds look like. Is having a decent understanding of the 4 main tech verticals (Software, Semi's, Internet and Fintech) enough and technical preparation enough. I would love a breakdown on how to prepare on the process, which rounds are technical and which are behavioral and how hard/long it is to prep?

Anecdotally, your tech knowledge should have breadth and depth - breadth as in you know enough to have a conversation on anything and everything tech / tech-adjacent, and depth on a few particular areas within technology that are meaningful to you, and have your reasons why, backed up with data (recent stock performance, fundraises, M&A activity). It’s largely all technical / assessing tech industry knowledge except for the end when big man Boutros asks how your day is going and decides to either extend his hand or give you the boot.. ros.
Re: time, my estimate starting from scratch would be 2-3 months at least. If you’re an SA looking to lateral, you probably have some knowledge already, so to refresh and catch up on any recent news, I’d say ~3 weeks of solid prep should get you there.
Also curious if applicants for Q SA program go through the same process?
Also curious on this. Do rising juniors applying for Q SA also have this process
Can I get a game plan. Willing to put in all the work to get Q just need direction in on where to look and where not to. What are some good resources to cover all tech verticals?
So your willing to put in the work but needs a game plan from an anonymous online forum?
Would you be able to pm me? I just had a few questions!
Was expecting this thread to be about a prospect who had a breakdown while prepping for Q interview
.
So what differentiate you from the herd of target school kids with 3.9 GPA interning at banks ranked 21-24 on the vault guide?
Ideally it would be that I interview well behaviorally, don't get technicals wrong, and have a great understanding of the tech industry... The last one is something I don't have at the moment, but would be willing to put in the time to build if I thought there was a chance I get the interview. I also have minors in Math/CS that make my 3.8 a little more impressive.
