Depends on the structure of the team. Some teams at my bank are led by a Director with no MD and they lead all the deals

Very bank dependent. At my bank director is a 2 year pre-MD training period. You have pretty big meeting targets to hit and are expected to have your own clients, but you're not really expected to generate revenue on your own until D. You may piggyback on bigger clients or deals with an MD
Most directors at my firm are hustling their asses off booking 8 meetings a day because that is the main metrics they're graded on
