Question I have

Needless to say I want to vomit. I was set to fly to LaGuardia this morning for a Superday, but I got to the terminal five minutes after the doors closed and the Uber took forever. Obviously, I should have left earlier to account for contingencies like this but I can't help but feel like a complete fuckup for wasting their time/money scheduling me and buying the ticket.

Did you tell the recruiter what you told us? About the battery? Uber? Should have planned better?

You could have just said the flight was cancelled or some shit like that

Yeah don't lie and say the flight was cancelled. That is beyond easy to check and considering they bought the tickets they could find that out within minutes. Don't go into details about how badly you messed up. Just explain the situation (You can exaggerate the car issues / car broke down / etc.) because that is more difficult for them to check and prove.

You reacted correctly, these things happen. Make sure to be at the terminal like 2 hours early next time, but I doubt this will kill your chances for this position or junior recruiting.
