Question on GPA listed on resume

Currently an SA at a EB thinking into the future and curious about how I should frame my resume moving forward.

I go to a non-target majoring in STEM, and my overall gpa is a 3.7 (3.68 to be exact), my major gpa is a 4.0.

On online applications for IB and PE opportunities (summer and full-time, I mean in this case), when they ask for a GPA it's almost denotd "Overall GPA" or "Cumulative GPA". On these forms, I put my overall gpa which is lower bc I feel like if they specify what GPA they're looking for, saying otherwise would be lying. My resume also lists both my Overall and my Major GPA. I have had it brought up several times during interviews, and have been able to own up to it and back it up with a reasonable story. So I have several questions:

1) Moving forward, for example for PE on-cycle recruiting, are there online applications? I ask because I am wondering if there are instances where a company will ever ask for my Overall GPA specifically. Hypothetically, would I be able to get by with only informing them of my major gpa. For me personally though, on my resume it's out of the question that I'd just say "GPA" as opposed to "Major GPA" to pass off the higher one as my "Overall GPA" if that makes sense. I do want to make the distinction on my GPA so i wouldn't appear to be trying to game them.

2) In any case, should I just list my major gpa only? I feel like if I do this, it invites even more attention to the overall GPA. My point is that I will probably get questions in any case, but I feel like it invites more attention and scrutiny if I exclude as opposed to include the overall gpa.

Would be interested in hearing your opinions, specifically in the context of future opportunities like PE on-cycle recruiting.
