Question on managing relationship with headhunters when interviewing for PE
So just started my search for a PE role and have an interview lined up at a small fund. Only thing is investments the fund makes are pretty small and would prefer to work somewhere with a bit more capital to deploy. I am going to go for the interview because I need the practice, but I know if I got an offer I wouldnt take it.
The issue with this is I obviously cant be going to interview after interview at places I dont want and be turning down invites to the next round or even offers, because the headhunters will think I'm just messing them around.
So just wondering if anyone has done this, and how they managed it - any tips you can give?
Just go through the process and if they give you an offer tell the headhunter it didn't feel like a good fit once you learned more from them.
