Question Regarding Story

Hi,

I’m beginning to go through recruiting and interview process. I’m really trying to hone and make my why IB story really good, as I know that can be really differentiating. I’m running into a problem in that I am having difficulty crafting a really compelling reason from my experience / past. I don’t really have any prior intern experience (COVID derailed it).

What I do have, however, is some entrepreneurial background. Nothing really impressive (financially wise), but ended up inventing an interesting product that I got a patent for. That’s been my main “thing” or experience so far in late high school and early college. Aside from that on campus, I’m involved with various business and finance clubs.

Although I know why I want to go into banking (great experiences, financial knowledge acquired, and exposure to a lot of different types of businesses) I’m having a hard time making the really compelling connection from my entrepreneurship experience to why banking is the logical move.

Any advice as to how I can connect the dots?

Thanks!
