Questions about Broker-Dealer

Hello, I am still unclear on few things about broker-dealer.
- Why are stockbrokers still needed when trades can be made electronically?
- What do stockbrokers actually do?
- How does recent college graduates become a broker-dealer?
- What are some top 10 broker-dealers in nyc?

Thanks in advance for answering!

This belongs in the Traders forum, you're talking about S&T.

"For all the tribulations in our lives, for all the troubles that remain in the world, the decline of violence is an accomplishment we can savor, and an impetus to cherish the forces of civilization and enlightenment that made it possible."

A financial advisor can give you custom tailored advice to your particular situation, a computer can only take a buy/sell order

Stockbrokers don't really exist anymore in the way that you're thinking, and there are additional and similar roles: FA, RR, etc

To become a broker, apply. You can also reach out to a company/group directly and ask them about working there

For the last question: you need to use the search button.

HINT: the "top ten" changes over time (just like sports teams) and it's not always best to start at one of them.
