Rank these internship opportunities please
Hi gents, need your help and opinion on ranking these 3 internship opportunities in terms of exits into a EB or BB * VC / Fam office with a good track record (as far as europe goes) where i'll work on late stage/pre-ipo comps and real estate deals * EY Rx. ranked #2nd in this country. they took part in some high profile deals in 2014 * M&A small/mid cap boutique. seniors from JPM/GS/Mck its my first "real" internship.
And finally, is it possible to call a BB who s making me wait and say that i have an exploding offer although its from some place of a "different" caliber ?
Depends on what you want to do / future career goals. I'm assuming you want to do banking, so I'd rec. you do the M&A boutique since it's always good to have banking experience when recruiting for SAs/FT. However, since this is your first internship, any of these would be great places to start out.
If you do EY Rx during the summer, you could probably do a fall internship at a boutique/MM and then get an SA at a very solid BB / EB. Either way, I'd rank like this:
As for your second question, call the person you interviewed with at the BB or someone from HR who's been corresponding with you. Whether they'd care about your exploding offer or not depends on how substantial the reputation / quality difference is at the place that's giving you an offer, i.e. GS/MS/JPM probably wouldn't react quickly if you had an exploding offer at a MM.
Ideally i would like to join an Rx group at some EB (eg. pjt) or some SSG PE group or GS's SSG unit
i tried getting interviews at pjt and Moelis this year but even tho i had good fit with associates at both places i never even got an interview. i guess its simply out of question to have anyone without exp.
Is this for junior summer SA? If you have an offer at BAML why are you weighing these other options?
For those elite groups you'd definitely want a very good name brand bank on your resume.
