I don’t know anything about deal flow or the experience you’ll get, but have heard the culture is absolute trash from numerous RBC summer analysts and full time employees. FIG and RE are the two groups at RBC that aren’t ‘RBC nice’ and are known to be toxic. Juniors apparently get bitched at 24/7.
Bump
Avoid at all costs.
How big is RBC FIG at each level? Mind if I PM?
Bump 2026?
Insurance and bank vertical have no culture. Too many third year associates trying to kiss asses and get promoted to VP while being incompetent. This ex CS kid from west coast is absolutely a joke.
What about SpecFin and AM
Bank is a total shit show. You got fucking incompetent analysts and associates that with shitty personality, and horrible to work with. No wonder they have no deals at all. Just overall shitty culture with shitty leadership that make you want to quit banking altogether
Actually the worst group on the street
what's their deal flow like? ive heard the higher deal-flow groups at rbc r more sweaty
Very bad real deal flow. Virtually no M&A. Mostly pitching and shitty cap markets crap. On top of that, sweatshop hours and psychopathic monsters.
i'm getting goosebumps
This is very true. Horrible leadership with incompetent juniors. I’ve never heard anything good about the group. There is no M&A, and even if they get a deal, it’s financing because they are the lender. Group head is know to fuck people over
This is pretty accurate
If you're in PU&I or Industrials you will work on multi-billion dollar deals and compete with BBs
If you're in any other coverage group you get scraps / buyside financings / non-lead ECM
