RBC New York

Does anyone have any idea how RBC New York is viewed on the street? What are the top groups and what do the exit opps look like? Does anyone from RBC tend to make it into PE mega funds or successful laterals to EB's or top BB's

Thanks

Not sure how viewed on jr. level but some groups have reputation for being sleazy. Leaky shop. Seniors have crook-like tendencies.

Try to get into the M&A group if you’re looking solely at exit opps. Heard culture is eh (people are super nice but don't do much together because the team is so large) and it’s kind of a sweatshop (85-90ish on average for analysts - according to a younger friend who interned there last summer).

But it is by far the best group for exit opps at RBC. Megafund/UMM is possible but rare if you come from the right background (top target, gpa, etc) as I know people have placed at KKR, Blackstone, and L Catterton in the last two years. MM PE seems to be the norm and is more than doable. Exits are tough from other groups but heard they have much much better hours/culture than M&A so most ppl stick around for A to A

Can anyone give the return offer rates for certain groups? Also have heard a lot about the groups that give solid exits, but anyone know which groups just have the best relative hours, most chill, etc.
