Can anyone share insights to the group? Specifically the culture and deal flow? How do they compare against other power groups across the street and how do exit ops compare?

RBC gets a bit hyped up on this forum by some people (you can't compare it to mid-BB although some people do this for some reason), but the PU&I group is very legit and consistently competes for the top deals in that sector. Definitely the best coverage group at RBC, as this isn't really the case for the other coverage groups there. The group places well in Infra funds and MM PE. M&A group still might be a bit better for standard PE exits, though.
How would macquarie stack up in the same space? Which would be a better option for US vs EMEA
Not sure on how it would be in terms of group performance, but RBC is definitely stronger than Macquarie overall. However, RBC only has a presence in North America; its presence in other areas is not very strong.
