RBC Soph LGBTQ+ Insight Program

I received an email for the RBC sophomore LGBTQ insights program to interview yesterday. The banker wants to schedule an interview by this Friday. I replied sending him times that i am available, and he did not respond. I emailed a second time, and he has not responded (it has been 24 hours since I sent him the first email). I don't know what to do, given that he wants to finish the interview by tomorrow or Friday. Should I call his office or cell number that was provided in the email?

I know that he read the email because I have MixMax and it said the email was "opened." What could be reasons that he is not replying?

Ok, that makes sense. Hopefully, he replies by tonight or early tomorrow as the deadline to finish the interview is this Friday. So you wouldn't recommend calling him at all, right? Would that seem rude?

I wouldn't call till Friday at noon if he hasn't responded by then.

I just did my interview for that this afternoon and got the invite email yesterday. He's probably going to confirm today or tmmr so don't worry unless you did something absolutely bizarre in your response email.

Ok, thanks for your advice! My reply email was normal, I just said thanks for reaching out, and here are the times I'm available. Hopefully, he'll reply soon.

How was the interview overall? Was it just all behaviorals?

Interview was very good I think. Lasted about 45 mins but only because we found a lot of markets stuff to talk about. Doubt there will be any technicals (all behaviorals for me). I interviewed with someone in S&T but my friend who interviewed for the woman's insights program with someone in IB last week said there were also no technicals. She just got an offer. Her interview lasted 15-20 min.

Hi! For the Sophomore LGBTQ+ Insight Program, do you know if you get to choose between the different divisions (investment banking, sales & trading, research or technology)? Is it rotational?

Not sure, but I'm interviewing tomorrow and will let you know after that. This program is not an internship though, it is just a virtual program with seminars and stuff, so I assume they'll just talk about all the areas in general. So it is not rotational because its a bunch of virtual webinars and networking.

They had me fill out a mandatory business interest survey earlier this month so it looks like you do get to choose. You received that too right?

Hey, so it completely depends on the person you get, as they don't have any preset questions to ask, they just ask ones that they want. For me, it was all just normal behaviorals, it was very simple and easy; it was kind of similar to a networking call tbh. My interviewer did not ask about the market, but I think one of the other comments above said he/she talked about the markets or something. Good luck!

I didn't get any email so I guess I got dinged. I'm feeling pretty bummed because I thought the interview went really well. Would you mind telling me what you said for why RBC, because I feel like my answer for that could have been weak and the reason I got dinged. Thanks!

Same. Make sure to fill out the form in the email by 5pm et tomorrow 10/27

Handled employee safety well at the beginning of the pandemic, where at the forefront of the HFT evolution and debate, never being involved/impacted by the 08 subprime crisis, putting their name on amicus briefs in support of LGBTQ+ rights

I don't think those responses are perfect tbh but that's what I said.
