Is it inappropriate to reach out to connections at banks that released applications today (to let them know I've applied and maybe have a follow-up chat soon)? I have a feeling most are working and that a "Happy New Year!" would suffice, but does this break any unspoken rules/is it generally rude considering that this is a holiday?
