Real Estate IB

I work in industrial acquisitions and development as an analyst. Have a REIB, M&A interview coming up with a bank. What questions can I expect? I understand asset level real estate, but I don't know anything about REIT take privates, one RE company buying another, corporate level RE, etc. Will I be asked corporate finance technicals ? Do I need to study these? Any suggestions appreciated. Do I need to be prepared to answer questions such as what is enterprise value, how is it calculated, etc? If so, does anyone have advice on how to study up quickly.

Fuck me, I have less than a day to prepare. Guess I'm fucked. Got the interview scheduled out of nowhere. Idk why they would select my resume then as all my experience is related to the asset level. Guess there’s no shortcuts or quick ways to study up as the questions can cover a multitude of subjects, etc. will review and study the guides to the best of my ability with limited time.

Is it pure-play M&A and IPO/Follow-On deals? A lot of REIB groups these days do a a decent amount of "programmatic" capital raise transactions that are basically asset-level financings through a boiler-plate JV Agreement. So anyways, if this specific group is doing a lot of those types of deals, you actually might have very valuable experience to the group.

Additionally, I would just be honest about what you do and what you don't know. Emphasize how confident & comfortable you are with the assets and admit that some of the Corp Fin concepts are foreign to you, but try to convey that you have quite the burning passion to learn them.

Just broadly speaking, I’m more interested in finance and better understanding different strategies (M&A, debt, restructuring, etc) and the finance part of development is rather repetitive.
