Received MM IB Offer, But Worried About Credit Score (~500)

Hi Monkeys – I’m currently at a boutique investment bank and recently received an offer to lateral to a middle-market bank. However, I’m a bit concerned about my credit situation. My credit score is around 500. Long story short, an ex ran up charges on my card and left the country, and I’m now dealing with the fallout. I have attorneys working on disputes and collections, but I wanted to ask:

How much could this impact my background check or onboarding with the new firm? Has anyone been in a similar situation or seen how firms typically handle this?

I've had court summons from debt collectors because of this, but my lawyers have been able to beat all the charges.

Appreciate any insights, just trying to get ahead of any potential red flags before the formal background screening.
