regional boutique internship with caveat - they don't give return offers to interns
Title speaks for itself. I have an interview lined up with a firm that offers unpaid internships but does not extend offers to summer analysts (they look for more experienced analysts out the gate)
I go to a non-target school for undergrad and this would be junior year summer internship. I think it'd be a great opportunity to have a shot at ft recruiting with other firms but I'm afraid I'd be leaving myself out to dry when it's over...
Assuming I get offered the internship, how will future firms respond if I tell them that "they don't give return offers" when they inevitably ask why I didn't get a return offer?
I should mention that the firm has great reviews from past interns and almost all of them say it gave them great IB experience. The firm also hires masters students form reputable schools as interns as well, which leads me to believe that there's something here worth pursuing.
