Regional IB -> MIF -> PE?

At a LMM boutique bank rn, hiring environment is fucking terrible for lateral hires, currently have 14 mos exp. Graduated with a 3.8, have good deal experience, work at a lean firm (lot of hands on modeling exp, control of marketing materials) but not really getting any traction.

Is it worth getting a MIF at top tier program (Booth,Vandy,MIT) if I want to be a PE analyst or do I just wait for the hiring environment to pick up?
