Regional IB vs GWM vs Finance Freshman Summer

Let's say I had the ability to choose between GWM/PWM in NYC, a regional boutique investment bank not in NYC, or the finance division of a fortune 100 company for a freshman summer internship. Which would be better if aiming for a career in investment banking?

Alternatively, what else could be looked into for freshman summer?

If you want to get into PWM, you would go with the PWM internship...if you wanted to do finance at a F100 company, you would do a F100 finance internship...if you wanted to get into investment banking you would take the regional IBD job...

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

You're right, it is that simple. However, I keep hearing about the impact of having a BB on your resume, even if it's in PWM.

People who say that are stupid.
