I’m only an incoming intern so take it with a grain of salt, but aren’t you not able to back out of early decision since you signed a contract? The only reason they’d let you would be because of financial purposes but since you got a full ride, that wouldn’t be allowed. Aside from that, I honestly think you’d be fine recruiting from WashU. I’m from a non target and while I’m going into MM banking, I have a number of friends who are going to BB/EB’s in T1/T2 cities from my school, so I guarantee it is possible from a place that is more of a target like WashU.
Thanks but I have until Jan 3rd to fill out the acceptance form, after that it's binding. Thats why I mentioned Notre Dame and if I get in, I'll just say no on the acceptance form. The thing that concerns me is that there is literally nobody in Chicago at a bb/eb and I dont really get why considering there's probably some interest in Chicago.
I still think early decision means that you 100% have to go if admitted unless things changed in the past 3 years since i went through college apps, so i would double check on that. If you back out of the binding agreement, you become at risk of WashU informing other schools you apply to. If it actually isn’t binding till you fill out that form, then yes I guess you can wait. I don’t think your recruiting experience will be all that different for a school like Notre Dame but college decisions is really about the place you feel most at home with so if that’s not WashU, then you should keep your options open. I guarantee there’s some WashU grads at EB/BB’s in Chicago but it’s also not always about the alumni network from your school that allows you to break into banking.
You have a full ride to a great school. Unless money isn’t a factor at all accept it and don’t look back. If your parents would’ve covered the tuition, use that money to do something productive. If you really hate it you can always transfer.
Washu is great. I went to a school in New England but all the kids I’ve met in my past internships from Washu are solid. I don’t think it’s a big problem trying to recruit
Its fine. Im from a mega non-target and made it to EB. WashU is far from a non-target. Not sure what the consequence is to reneg ED but I would imagine its severe.
I thought people ED to schools that are a reach and keep easy to get into schools as safeties?

Depends what program he was aiming for, but Wash U is a good school still. Blows the hinges off something like Arizona or Mississippi State.

sometimes they will tell other schools and that's just a terrible look
