relationship between groups

Hi guys, i was wondering, how are relations between people working in different groups. like for example, do analysts from TMT just have dinner together, or go out to drink coffee by themselves? or do analysts create relationships and friendships regardless of their group? and how is it vertically? do analysts go with associates to grab a coffee? dare I say a VP?

i am just worried because i found out that there will be just about 15 interns in my class. only two groups hired more than one intern, the rest are in different teams.
