Relevant work experience for a Summer Analyst position

I am aware that a bank’s (BB, MM, Boutique) work experience requirements for internship positions are not as strenuous as for FT roles, but still, is there any general preference among investment banks for the type of work experience that they value most in internship applicants (company size, sector, etc.)?

I go to a ‘target’ school (LBS) but all 3 of my past internships/work experiences were at small firms in the Asset Management sector. The most recognizable name is probably Octopus Investments and the other 2 are Beijing-based Chinese funds. Moreover, my last internship was in 2017 and so I have no work experience in 2018. I could argue that I was taking the GMAT, volunteering abroad and applying for MSc positions during the first half of 2018, but would this still be a possible drawback?
