Reneging BofA/Citi for GS/JP/MS
I was a IB SA at BofA/Citi and got a return offer and had to accept it because of the deadline. Ideally, I want to apply to GS/JP/MS for full-time. Is this a bad idea? Will I get caught?

Every bank knows every other bank. Chances are your new MD and old MD golf together or something. Word gets around.
Would highly advise against this if you’re talking about the same geography and industry coverage. If you’re changing geographies and/or industry coverage, it could be a little better.
Just wait at least 6 months to a year on the job then lateral. That way you maintain the relationships a bit. Your team won’t be happy that you left but they won’t feel betrayed as much as if you renege.
horrible idea, not worth the time, effort, and risk. the difference between being at a mid bb vs a top bb is negligible in every aspect
Absolutely do not do this. It will be easier to lateral down the road anyway if you really want to. You will destroy any goodwill you have have built over the summer and I guarantee people at your firm have friends at the others. Do not do this.

Wtf.. why would you ever do this? There’s no such thing as top BB on the street (only on WSO). These are all renown banks, and will open doors to anywhere in finance
Absolutely not. Only renege if it's back office to front office, or maybe if its from a LMM to a BB. BB to BB is nonsense.
