Republican Debates

Full disclosure: Red

I thought Paul and Pawlenty came out on top with Romney not far behind. Newt and Cain were surprisingly strong. Bachmann looked like a social engineer while Huntsman and Santorum have no chance.

Rankings- 1. Paul 2. T-Paw/Romney 4. Newt

-caP1taL1sm..Paul is never getting elected, why don't people understand this.

Maybe some people vote with conviction and beliefs, not based on who's gonna win. You keep that status quo...

wadtkHuntsman and Santorum have no chance.

Shut up. Huntsman's the only one who actually has a chance against Obama. He appeals to independents and conservatives alike.

thoughts about the debate?

It was boring. Nothing interesting coming out of it other than the entertaining verbal fight between Bachmann and Pawlenty. The real debates start in January.

It was lame form what I saw. T-Paw and Bachmann going at was kind of funny though.

Personally, I'm still pulling for Ron Paul, regardless of what people say his chances are.

Only one with a chance to take down Romney is Perry.

I honestly think Perry has a decent shot at the nomination. Many of the primary voters are desperate for anyone who is not Romney and they will flock to Perry if he throws enough red meat out there.

In the general Perry is going to look like GWB part 2 to every independent out there and will most likely get crushed, but primary voters are typically ideologically heavy and don't vote electability.

Crazy RayI thought Paul shot himself in the foot with his thoughts on Iran. To think that Iran would be harmless in developing nuclear weapons?

You misunderstood him. He believes we need to stay out of people's business and that carries over to Iran's nuclear weapon development situation.

So either he doesn't fully appreciate the situation, or he values the libertarian principle over the safety of Israel and the United States.

I liked when Paul had to explain to Santorum the Iran conflict started in 1953 not 1979.

That was awesome!

Yeah, really saw some fire from the man

^^That's your opinion. I just pointed out that you misunderstood him. Since he's a libertarian you should now know what he meant.

I knew what he meant before. Disagreeing with his stance doesn't mean that I don't understand what he's saying. It is just that, in my opinion (and I think a lot of conservatives would agree), the principle wouldn't be the best one to apply to a nation like Iran.

I don't see Iran nuking Israel anytime soon. If they did that, wouldn't the Dome of the Rock end up being destroyed? I don't really trust them either, but lots of other nations that we aren't exactly BFFs with have nukes as well.
