Resources for Leveraged Finance
Hi all - I will be starting an internship in a LevFin group this summer and was hoping to find more info on LevFin (primers, books, videos, news, etc.). Additionally, if anyone knows of older posts on this, please lmk (the search function is a pain to try and navigate). As of now, I have a few primers and the Bear LevFin Handbook that's posted on WSO, but I was just curious about any more resources. I would be happy to hear any other advice on the summer/LevFin as well.

LCD Leveraged Loan Primer
great book! but very basic! Good as a "starter guide" but the most useful would be to stay up to date with news through LCDComps, LevFinInsights and so on
A Pragmatist’s Guide to Leveraged Finance is always mentioned in threads like this. It’s a great primer and should give you a solid fundamental understanding of the leveraged loan market.
Would also recommend searching for threads using Google instead. The search function (especially in the app) is awful on this site.
For example, type “WSO leveraged finance primer” into Google. I also remember reading an old thread overviewing the levfin space by user “WallStreetPlayboys.” Not sure if it’s dated or not though, would defer to somebody actually in the space to chime in there.
I used this prior to my internship in LevFin.
My only issue is that it won’t really teach you anything is that you don’t already know.
It’s handy to get an overview of levfin terms etc, but it’s value for anyone beyond zero knowledge is low.
Might be a little late, but definitely take a look at lifeandlevfin (dot com). I spoke with them 2 years ago, they were super helpful to talk to. I don't think they do calls anymore (maybe if you offer to pay a little bit for their time they will, but before they gave me 30 min phone call) but they have a pretty amazing tutorial for super cheap. Really insightful stuff, and the excel modeling basically made me stand out amongst my other analyst group. Really like how it's not crazy packed with information but informative about what's actually required on the desk.
