Resume Question: what is the correct date for Incoming Positions?
I am a current sophomore going into the SA recruitment cycle. I have a Sopho summer internship lined up and have been putting it on my resume. I put "incoming investment banking summer analyst" under the firm name. However, I am a bit confused about the dates. I have been told to put the actual internship dates (June - August) on the resume, but also have been told to put the month when I accepted the offer since I put "incoming" in the description (January). Would love to get some advice from y'all.
I’ve been told to put actual dates of the internship. Work experience should reflect dates you did the work, not date you accepted a job offer (doing this keeps it consistent with the rest of the section on your resume)
Definitely the dates of the internship. 1) It is meant to reflect your work experience and 2) Imagine how confusing it would be if a bunch of people who are in the same internship have different start dates just because of when they accepted their internship.
