Retail to IB
Hello Everyone,
I have just finished eight years in retail banking and was recently promoted into a role in our business banking division earlier this year. I will also be finishing my MBA in accounting and finance this spring. I work for a major U.S. bank currently and did my undergrad and grad schooling at the University of Michigan at Dearborn. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on breaking into IB? I feel like I am a little behind on the recruiting cycle and feel like I'm throwing darts at the wall. I'm interested in relocating to NYC and have been applying to analyst and associate positions there. Does anyone think I would qualify to be an analyst since my experience is still finance-related and I will have a MBA? Thanks in advance for all the thoughts and help!
Don't want to break your will bud but 99.99% it won't happen. Nobody will bring in a 30 year old as an Analyst and you just don't have the experience to be brought in as an Associate. The on-campus recruitment boat has already sailed so GG s to you..
