First of all, if it was a good experience, you worked on some deals, and you did a good job (assuming you did if you have the opportunity to go back) why would that hinder your chances for next summer?

Also, I am assuming you do not have any other options if you are asking about this so late in the game. If that is the case going back is way better than not having anything this summer.

And if your bosses were former BB MDs then get them to hook you up after the summer....seems like a no brainer to me

Thanks for the response. It was a good experience, but I'm worried that interviewers have a stigma surrounding a repeat internship, i.e. couldn't find anything else or settling because of lack of motivation.

Yeah I can understand that worry, and I will say that it depends on how you portray it in interviews. If you say that you came back because they paid more than last year, gave you more responsibility than last year, is close to home, or something like that you will be fine. What I would avoid is talking about how you really liked the group of people or something along those lines because that will bring into the question of why not go back there FT.

I don't think that would be an issue. I think it is rare for a freshman to land an internship with a boutique IB. You can really highlight how you were able to land that internship as a freshman and that you did such an amazing job that they wanted you to come back from another summer. I definitely think there are a lot of ways to use that to land a BB offer for your junior summer. If you don't have any better offers yet, then I would say go for it.
