I want to go into ib after college. Would you recommend econ research or an accouning internship during the summer of my freshman year if i want to get an ib internship during my junior year?

What about sophomore year? If you want to do an IB internship junior year try to do Finance related internship.
What school are you attending? How are your grades? Are you in NYC area?
How do banks look at accounting internships?
Big 4 is better than nothing, but they aren't impressed as there will be plenty of applicants with IB internships, apply boutique, MM or BB.
